Polar Plunge

Polar Plunge for Special Olympics

The Polar Plunge is one of the coolest Special Olympics fundraisers of the year! The Plunge is a truly unique event and includes a fun, festive atmosphere with food and great prizes.

The Plunge works just like a Walk-a-Thon, but with one big twist.

Participants solicit donations to support their effort (a BEAR minimum of $75 to take the plunge– $50 minimum for Junior Plungers, ages 6-18), but instead of walking, Plungers take a chilly dip into a pool set up for the crowd’s enjoyment!

Greater Cincinnati Polar Plunge

Special Olympics Hamilton County teams up with Special Olympics Kentucky every year to provide the Greater Cincinnati Polar Plunge. Stay tuned for an exciting update for the 2022 Greater Cincinnati Polar Plunge!

How does this all work?

SOHC will receive 100% of the net proceeds our team raises. So, by participating and donating to Team Freezecats, you are supporting our programs, sports and our athletes here in Hamilton County!
